As a Welder Trainee we will teach you welding skills to move into the role as a Welder & Railcar Repair Technician with our company.
What you'll do:
- Complete 1-2 week training in GMAW, FCAW, Torch, Grinder, and Air carbon arc gouging
- Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts
- Work on routine manufacturing assignments that have clear goals and standard procedures
- Receive detailed instructions and close supervision
- Learn job skills, company policies and processes to do routine tasks
- Serve as team member
- Qualify in FCAW and GMAW welding processes
- Oxy Fuel, Carbon arc, and Plasma cutting
- Observe all standard safety practices and maintain and complete all required records
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
What you'll need:
- No previous welding experience required, we will teach you and train you to become a welder
- 100% Attendance for completion of training program
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and measuring instruments (i.e. tape measure)
- The ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
