will be responsible for conducting training for welders going through Trinity Industries Weld Academy. They will also ensure all Welding Standards are being followed and upheld throughout the facility. They will also act as a mentor to new employees.
What you'll do:
• Be a resource for production welders if there is additional training needs or questions regarding the performance of a function
• Produce a high quality of welding on various different types of base metal ranging from but not limited to carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
• Perform destructive testing for Welder Qualifications
• Understand and ensure the implantation of Welding Procedure Specification are being performed in plant as well as in Weld Academy
• Uphold Trinity Industries Welding and Quality Standards throughout daily job duties, while ensuring Production Welders are doing the same
• Aid in coordinating Trinity Industries Welder database
• Assist in parameter verification for welding machines
• While all job functions are being performed ensure that all safe practices are being followed as well as others around you
What you’ll need:
• 3-5 years of metal fabrication
• Capable of communicating with trainees, and plant leadership in a clear and concise fashion
• Ability to achieve and maintain several different welder qualifications in different welding processes such as but not limited to GMAW, FCAW
• Ability to read Blueprints
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Adaptable to changes to daily tasks
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
Must be able to work a 1st or 2nd shift
Preferred Qualifications:
• Basic digital literacy with Microsoft Programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Railcar Experience
• Experience in rail codes such as D15.1 & AAR Field Manual
