Trinity Industries is searching for a hard-working team player to fill the open position of IT Business Systems Analyst, Supply Chain & Manufacturing in our Dallas, Texas office!

This role will serve as a member of IT’s business-facing team and will be responsible for the full application development lifecycle, operational performance of our ERP systems (SCM and Manufacturing), relationship management, and overall maintenance and support.

This role is responsible for the design, delivery, and support of application solutions for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Warehouse Management business processes and will work with multiple departments and Business Units including Corporate Office and Manufacturing Plants in US, Mexico and Canada.

What you'll do:

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand business processes and elicit, define, and analyze business requirements
  • Partner and lead the implementation of an ecommerce and warehouse management system
  • Lead and coordinate small projects and provide all the updates and documentations per the PMO guidelines
  • Work with business stakeholders to facilitate prioritization sessions of projects/enhancements
  • Design, develop, and implement solutions that meet business needs
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams across all ERP modules and other applications to define and design proposed solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to application design guidelines, strategies, and best practices
  • Support production systems including analyzing and resolving production problems and end user service requests
  • Create deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation
  • Prepare executive level presentations to communicate status of either projects and/or business partner’s strategic initiatives
  • Configure, prepare, and test applications to meet designs
  • Facilitate resolution of cross-team business issues
  • Collaborate with business partners on deployment including training, change management, and communications
  • Build documentation and training materials; deliver training and communications; assist in organizational change management
  • Create test cases to cover business processes and system functions; implement tests; analyze and resolve defects
  • Manage own work to deliver according to project schedules; be accountable for delivery
  • Apply project management standards and concepts; prepare work estimates and work schedules; create and update project plans
  • Find opportunities to use applications to improve business processes, and support business improvement efforts
  • Travel occasionally

What you'll need:

  • BA/BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of experience working with ERP Supply Chain and Manufacturing modules, such as Sales and Operations Planning, Sales and Distribution, Materials Management, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management
  • Strong technical abilities within application design, configuration, implementation, and support, of ERP systems
  • Basic Project Management skills
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain and Manufacturing processes (i.e. Product Life Cycle, Sales and Operations Planning, Master Scheduling, Sourcing & Procurement, Production Planning and Execution, Inventory Management, Quality Management and Control, etc.), and integration to financial processes (Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and determine valid conclusions
  • Experience implementing Supply Chain and Manufacturing Best Business Practices, delivering measurable results
  • Experience working through an ERP upgrade or deployment
  • Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle process (SDLC); and Waterfall or Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Ability to be well organized, and self-motivated
  • Effective communication and presentation skills are vital
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and general audit requirements
