Sr. Planning Analyst
TrinityRail Planning & Logistics consists of 4 individuals that support our internal and external Maintenance Repair Facilities. Based on the complexities and volumes anticipated with regulatory changes, along with non-modification repair maintenance and large compliance years, Fleet Maintenance continues to dedicate this experienced team to the planning and coordination efforts for our growing network.
This role will support the Planning team in making data driven decisions when shopping railcars and process improvements. They will be an integral part of delivering an outstanding customer experience associated with the maintenance of railcars.
What you'll do:
- Support an Outstanding Customer Experience by scheduling repair events using data on >10,000 railcars per year.
- Ability to execute the maintenance strategy and secure long term capacity to support maintenance requirements.
- Manage and maintain schedules of Trinity’s wholly, partially owned, and managed fleet to ensure accuracy throughout the course of the repair event.
- Select shopping locations based on maintenance budget targets.
- Understand scheduling and repair network capabilities and how they impact railcar scheduling and customer needs.
- Drive scorecard performance for the Planning Team.
- Preparing reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Work cross-functionally to execute actionable customer account strategies.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shop assignments, turn times, availability, delivery, etc.
- Lead cross functional teams and manage project plans that drive process improvement.
- Document and maintain integrity of processes and make recommendations for improvements and automations.
- Drive innovation, specifically new tool development, automation and adoption across the team.
- Supporting regular and ad hoc reporting duties.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, finance, supply chain, or other related fields
- 5+ years related project management, operations, or analysis experience
- Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to promote
- Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making skills
- Self-motivated, organized and capable of handling multiple responsibilities and projects to successful completion
- Strong change management skills highly desired
- Proven track record of executing with limited supervision
- Ability to mine data is a plus
- Transportation and/or operations experience beneficial
