TrinityRail is searching for a Fleet Operations Analyst to work in our Dallas, Texas offices.  This individual will manage the maintenance, repair and regulatory compliance of railcars within assigned fleets.  Assigned fleets may be customers’ fleets and/or a class of Company-owned railcars such as new car fleet integration or damaged car disposition.  Ensures cars meet quality, regulatory and utilization standards.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and issue shopping instructions for repair work 
  • Coordinate between customers and repair shops and respond to and resolve customer inquiries concerning car maintenance and shop status
  • Expedite repair work through shops
  • Analyze shop repair estimates and invoices for accuracy and potential cost savings
  • Approve repairs and use available data tools to make decisions to decrease cost of ownership of the fleet, while maintaining optimal levels of throughput 
  • Optimize the shopping process through process improvements and data analysis 
  • Analyze the repair network for performance, quality and cost
     

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Analytics, or Business degrees preferred 
  • 5 years’ experience performing, managing and coordinating effective fleet maintenance functions, analytics, operations or financial analysis 
  • Knowledge of AAR/FRA rules and regulations pertaining to railcar repair/fabrication, maintenance/design, and applicable standards or rail industry knowledge a plus 
  • Customer-focused, excellent relationship building skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Lean Six Sigma experience an added bonus
