Production Supervisor
TrinityRail Maintenance Services is hiring a Production Supervisor (2nd Shift - 4pm-2:30am M-F) in our Shell Rock, Iowa plant!
What You'll Do:
- Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling, and leading employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Conduct training; implementing & leading all aspects of systems, policies, and procedures
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and implementing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations
- Complete operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work; collecting resources; implementing standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining reference manuals; implementing new procedures
- Control expenses, participates in submitting cost savings ideas, budget information; monitors expenditures; monitoring variances; implementing corrective actions
- Provide quality service by implementing quality, customer service standards, participates in submitting quality improvements
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending informative workshops; reviewing procedures, specifications, MI’s and Field manuals
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Accomplishes department objectives by coordinating and monitoring work process
- Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that follow company’s plans and vision
- Prioritize workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Monitor employee efficiency and providing constructive feedback and coaching
- Input data in KRONOS, TRACS, MS OFFICE and EXCEL and Development skills in additional Computer programs
- Lead and supervise day to day production activities on second shift
- Coordinate with quality inspectors to ensure that products meet company standards and specifications. Accomplish goal of providing quality product on time
- Troubleshoot issues dealing with production, maintenance, quality, shipping, engineering and management
- Inspect work areas to ensure safety regulations are being followed safe working conditions are maintained
- Review production drawings; establish production requirements, equipment and procedures
- Coordinate work assignments and instruction of employees with lead worker(s) to ensure proper, efficient work procedures. Monitor and maintain quality and efficiency
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma; BS/BA in management or equivalent field preferred
- Experience as a supervisor or equivalent role
- Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field
- Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills
