What you'll do:
- Perform basic quality control testing and inspection of standard parts, units, equipment or material to ensure conformance with standards and determine if the product meets all requirements
- Perform a variety of standard testing processes on finished products or equipment and records and analyzes results
- Report directly to the NDT Lead Supervisor
- May use automated and manual techniques including Ultrasound to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in unit
- Follow all safety and quality rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma / GED (Minimum requirement)
- Must have been employed in the NDT Department for a minimum of 2 years to qualify for the Lead Position
- Certification to at least 4 NDT Methods to include UT Flaw Level II
- Extensive knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment and of operational functions to be inspected
- Must have shown proficiency and knowledge of car owner procedures and inspection processes.
- Ability to pass a Technical Performance Evaluation every 3 years as required by the Industry requirements of AAR MSRP, M-1002, Section CIII, Appendix T and the TrinityRail NDE-WP Qualification and Certification of NDT Personnel. (To remain Certified)
- Proficiency in procedural inspections (maintenance, qualification, customer requirements)
- Ability to achieve Level II in 4 NDE methods to include VT level II
- Strong interpersonal skills
