IT Director, ERP & PMO
Trinity Industries is searching for a talented leader to fill the open position of IT ERP/PMO Director in our Dallas, Texas office!
This role maintains the current PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other Organizational Unit leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs. Directs and oversees the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements and ensures the current methodologies are being followed. This position requires a strong knowledge of running programs with multiple work streams and necessitates a deep background in Portfolio, Program & Project management. This leadership role will also be responsible for all project Dashboards, resource utilization, communication and change management efforts ensuring that all levels of the IT organization are engaged and aware of progress.
What you'll do:
- Lead a diverse team including direct, indirect and external resources
- Partner with functional leaders to build clear future state visions enabled by people, process and technology investments
- Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget
- Provide the necessary training and facilitating skills to drive transformation activities and ensure long term adoption
- Act as the single point of accountability for overall program success across the business
- Develop and manage detailed project plans to ensure overall program goals are achieved including on time, within budget and business improvement goals
- Lead multiple concurrent project efforts in coordination with a cross functional team including business owners, subject matter experts, technical resources, and other key functional support resources
- Apply Project Management principles, practices, and techniques across multiple teams
- Develop and manage organizational change management efforts with stakeholders including facilitating decision making
- Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet project goals
- Monitor and drive accountability on overall project plans across cross functional teams
- Define project tasks and resource assignments
- Plan and schedule project timelines
- Provide day to day direction and support to project team
- Implement and manage scope change and interventions to achieve project output
- Monitor compliance with policies and standards.
- Track and provide project status and audit reports.
- Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed.
- Own the plan & management for stage-gate decision process
- Identify, hire, and manage project manager resources
- Ensure functional area deliverables are understood, cross-functionally aligned, execution of deliverables and timelines are on track
- Prepares regular, thorough, and articulate executive summaries for senior leadership on projects
- Ensures adherence to practices, procedures, precedents, policy, and Executive Leadership direction
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, business or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of Program Management experience delivering complex technology driven programs in a rapidly changing business environment
- Strong influencer and team development skills
- Organizational and planning skills with strong written and verbal communication capabilities
- Ability to build relationships across enterprise and drive accountability
- Strong executive presence
- Strong business, process and technology acumen
- Extensive experience driving business programs thru use of data
- Must be able to manage multiple projects with same level of priority and quality
- Proven record delivering complex business goals with benefits - on-time, on-budget and in scope
- Knowledge and application of IT PMO methodology and governance (i.e., Agile, PMI, PMBOK)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products, especially Visio & MS Project (ability to create and maintain integrated schedules for programs)
- Organizational Change Management experience with exposure to key OCM methodologies
- Ability to work/lead through aggressive challenges, obstacles, deadlines, and changes
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on issues encountered during project delivery and devise course correction and ‘get to green’ plans
- Motivating, builds excitement and drives collaboration through programs and projects
