IT Director, DevOps and Systems Operations
Trinity Industries is seeking an IT Director, DevOps and Systems Operations in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters.
This role will be responsible for delivering our DevOps, Proactive Applications Monitoring, and Systems Incident Management enterprise services. This includes conceptualization, planning, evaluation, implementation, rollout, and support of associated platforms and technologies.

What you’ll do:
- Provide technical leadership, best practices, and implementation experience to drive a newly formed enterprise function
- Plan, assign and direct the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the support of DevOps, Proactive Application Monitoring, and Systems Incident Management
- Build and drive delivery of a DevOps roadmap that supports the enterprises’ diverse application and systems portfolio
- Design and implement a modern DevOps platform that enables efficient and dependable delivery of systems and applications
- Oversee implementation of App Dynamics proactive monitoring platform and establish standard methodologies for Systems Incident Management that ensure alignment to established Service Level Agreements
- Play a strategic role in identifying technology direction that would enable the business to more effectively achieve business goals within and across assigned application portfolio(s)
- Participate in IT management duties such as budget and financial activities; process standards, improvement, and monitoring; program and project management; and strategic planning
- Train staff and promotes knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor of Science required (Computer Science Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of executive level experience (Senior Manager, Director), DevOps/Systems Operations executive experience preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of Software Operations experience including leading operations teams, ideally in building robust teams
- Prior hands on experience implementing, supporting, and continuously improving a DevOps platform required
- Experience with multiple DevOps automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Prior experience leading and supporting a Systems Incident Management and Proactive Application Monitoring capability required
- Solid understanding of applications architecture processes, design patterns, and standards preferred
- Experience in systems integration methods preferred
- Prior experience interacting directly with business partners required
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal communication skills are a must
- Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability
- Outstanding organization and planning skills
- Passion for solving technical challenges and pride in finding sophisticated, sustainable solutions; constantly thinking of ways to improve our productivity, reliability, and quality
