TrinityRail has a need for an entry level Quality Engineer dedicated to utilizing quality principals, tools, and practices to optimize the Quality Management System (QMS) at our Shell Rock, IA location. 

What you'll do:

  • Acting as a technical resource within the Quality Assurance Department to ensure the timely and proper creation, modification and release of QMS documents
  • Analyze and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements
  • Supporting the conversion of the QMS into the next generation software based QMS
  • Serve as Quality Assurance representation on project teams by providing guidance for maintaining compliance to regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Applying continuous improvement principles in the development of the quality management system
  • Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes
  • Leading Root Cause/Corrective Action projects as well as applying Risk Mitigation Tools
  • Performing audits at facilities
  • Travel to facilities up to 50-75% will be required to perform duties

 

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Driven, energetic, self-assured professional with high personal integrity
  • Attention to detail, must be meticulous and consistent
  • Computer literate; able to utilize MS Office Suite, MS SharePoint
  • Reasoning skills for problem identification and resolution
  • Ability to conceptualize, analyze, plan and organize projects
  • Some to considerable knowledge of manufacturing processes, product testing, codes, standards and regulations applicable to division products. 
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate engineering drawings and regulatory codes. 
  • Desire to learn and engage in TrinityRail quality related activities
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Six Sigma or Lean skills and tools exposure is a plus
