TrinityRail Maintenance Services is hiring a Purchasing Analyst for our Shell Rock, Iowa plant!

 

This person will perform supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but not limited to, material procurement, vendor selection and distribution, and continuous improvement strategies within the Logistics and Supply Chain department.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies for customer-related business processes for internal use.
  • Discuss favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers.
  • Compile data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements.
  • Coordinate incoming movement of raw materials and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules
  • Plan, schedule and supervise inbound movement of materials from suppliers
  • Evaluate material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering
  • Promotes alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization
  • Develop specifications for new contract orders
  • Coordinate information and activities with other team members
  • May coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customers
  • Uses existing procedures to fix routine or standard problems
  • Supports production and logistics with other duties as assigned


What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or supply chain logistics preferred; or equivalent (2-4) work experience
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and generate complete and timely reports
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a SOX policy and requirements for compliance
  • Advanced level of digital literacy with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees throughout the plant
